I'm Krisztián Egry (b. 1994), a Hungarian documentarian. The most defining moment in my filmmaking journey happened when I was around 12 years old and started riding BMX. Back in 2010, it was completely normal in underground subcultures—whether BMX, skateboarding, or whatever — to take pictures and make films about themselves. I was no exception. More than 15 years ago, I exposed my first photograph and created my very first "sports documentary". And I’m still just getting started.Nowadays, I often think about how to label myself—how to sum up what I do and who I am in just one word. Maybe D.O.P.? Filmmaker, director, or photographer? A little bit of all of them, yet not entirely any of them. Let’s just say: 'a docu man'.

I would say visual storytelling is a language between me and the world around me. This is how I try to understand the surroundings and get to know the unknown. Filmmaking is a contact: I stand in the middle, one hand holds the topic, the other holds the audience. A lifelong learning process.

After 4 years of dedicated work and deep commitment, my very first project has been broadcested by AMC Networks and also runs on several streamings. However Memoirs of Métiers has collected loads of recognition from international film festivals from Hong Kong to Hollywood which is of course a real honor, yet I hope these awards represent the quality of my work and my attitude as a human. For me the real goal is not to collect awards but to mediate a deeper meaning and to create real connection with the audience.

i look forward …

...to the opportunity to collaborate, if you find my previous work aligned to your vision. While I am available as a cinematographer or photographer, I am also capable of handling independent projects managing them as a one-man-crew up to a certain level. However, over the years, I’ve built a network of highly skilled professionals in the industry, enabling me to manage and execute full-scale productions with a team of experts.
I’m constantly seeking to expand my knowledge and embrace new challenges through fresh projects.
